ARE YOU ENJOYING YOUR HOLIDAYS?

Hi!

What's going on?
I hope you are enjoying your holidays! I have great news for you all! You all scored above 50% on a school competition test and 5 of you made it to the national competition. CONGRATULATIONS. I am really proud of you. I hope you will find some time to practise English during additional lessons at school. I have already prepared some exercises for you. Can you name "the lucky five"? Give it a try.

And of course, I must not forget. A basketball season is about to begin after holidays. The boys' game is scheduled on 4th November and the girls' game a week later so you better show up at the gym if you want to be on a team.

And last but not least! DO NOT forget your homework (tenses + essay MY FAMILY)

What are your family members like?
What do they like?
What do they look like?
What are their hobbies?
What do you like and dislike about them?
Any pets?

So let's see if you check my blog regularly?

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

See you soon, your teacher Mr. Petić!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND?

Hi!

You have just learnt about Bob's weekend activities and his mind-blowing adventure. He is a brave boy, isn't he? It takes courage to do something like that? That's the way to spend a weekend. Nothing but pure adrenalin.

Unfortunately, my weekend was nothing like that. I had a very busy one which I spent in Ljubljana on a basketball seminar! I missed some action.

And you? It's Monday and we are back to school again. I wonder how your weekend was? Did you do anything crazy just like Bob? Have you ever done a bungee jump?

(YES)How was it? (NO) Would you like to try it?

If you had to do it which one would you prefer?

OR

The world's highest bungee jump:

Check the links and decide.

What is the coolest thing you have ever done?

Do your parents know about it?

Share your opinions and your stories with me.

EUROPEAN BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Hello basketball fans!

Since being an English teacher and a basketball coach I think the chosen topic should hit the spot. We should discuss the game of basketball in English language.

It's over. The curtain has fallen over the European Basketball Championship. Slovenia hasn't achieved its goal-the medal. Our players haven't won the medal but they have won our hearts. They fought bravely till the end despite many injuries and they literally bled (Brezec) for the national team. The 4th place is something we all should be proud of. So close but still so far away but that's life. It's just another step toward the top and we believe this step will be made in the next few years if the team stays together.

Do you think healthy & fit Beno Udrih, Saša Vujačič, Goran Dragič and Matjaž Smodiš would be enough to reach the finals?

What do you think our chances are in the World Championship in Turkey, 2010?

Who is your favourite player?

What do you think about the guy called "THE PROFESSOR" and his skills? (video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRh3t5DaQlQ

Would you like to have him on a Slovenian team?

Could a player as skilled as "THE PROFESSOR" help us win the gold?

Something new for you-blogging!

Hi 8th-graders!

Here is a new way to improve your English. You can start blogging and have fun in a different way. It is a completely new experience for me as a teacher and a big challenge at the same time!
Hopefully you'll like it, too. As said before, blogging is not something I am used to so I'd like to gather some information from you.

Have you ever taken a part in a blog?
Have you ever had your own blog?
What is your favourite blog?
What are your favourite topics?
Do you like the idea of blogging?

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Your teacher, Jure Petic
